I had the good fortune to study in the MFA program at the University of Utah with poets Jacqueline Osherow, Mark Doty, Donald Revell and Amy Gerstler, and to receive a scholarship from the Southampton Writers Conference at Stony Brook University for seminars with Martín Espada and Star Black.

Before that, I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude in economics and creative writing from the University of Utah.
